Hi Dive Team Families,

My name is Coach Nick, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the MAC Head Dive Coach for this summer season. I’m originally from the St. Louis area, currently a 2nd year medical student, and previously worked as Creve Coeur Racquet Club’s head dive coach for three years before the facility transitioned into the new Lifetime location.

So far, it has been a great first week, and the kids have been doing an awesome job. We already have several divers working on and learning new dives, which has been exciting to see. Their willingness to step outside their comfort zones and try new things has made for a fantastic start to the season.

I want practices to be an environment where kids feel encouraged to try new dives, support each other, and genuinely have fun doing it. Feeling nervous before trying something new means they care, and learning how to push through that fear is something that helps far beyond the diving board.

Each Friday, we’ll spend part of practice running a mock meet so the kids can become more comfortable with the flow of competition before our first meet on Saturday. We’ll finish each practice group with a fun dive game, and there may even be a few prizes involved starting next week. We have plenty of other fun ideas planned throughout the summer as well, so stay tuned - more to come!

Also, as a quick resource for families this summer, my girlfriend, Alexandra, will be living in the area with me during the swim and dive season. She is 22 years old, recently graduated from nursing school, has her own car, and starts her ICU nursing position in August. She has several years of babysitting experience, a flexible schedule this summer, and is available for babysitting, driving kids to and from the pool or activities, staying with children during practices or meets, or helping families who may need an extra hand during the summer months.
