A few items....housekeeping/future events
First off, great meet last night! The kids seemed to have a great time and we were really impressed with all of the improvements we saw. We apologize for the meet running so late, that typically doesn't happen. When we are away, we are at the mercy of the other team.
A few housekeeping items:
- (PENGUIN ONLY) If you are buying out for any or all of your work shifts, we need to know by THIS THURSDAY! We need your cash in an envelope with your name on the outside no LATER THAN THIS FRIDAY. You can leave money in the Proshop or hand it to us. After Friday, you are responsible for filling your work shifts. At the end of the season, those that haven't fulfilled thier requirements will be fined through thier MAC account. The fines are as follows: $75 for the first missed job, $100 for the second missed job, $150 for the third missed job.
-Tomorrow night is Teen (11 and up) night. Pool activites start at 7:00. Pizza dinner will be provided for the teen swimmers. Please RSVP through the site. We really just need to know if you ARE coming. Thanks!
-This Friday, June 16th, the MAC is having a Cardboard Boat Regatta and Dive-In movie in honor of Larry Jackson. Members are encouraged to construct a cardboard boat to race in the pool. Race rules and information are found on the event registration page through the main MAC website. Boat race entries are $10. Dinner buffet 5:00, movie at dusk.
-Monday, June 19th, is the team photo day. There will be NO PRACTICE this day. You can come around 8:30 to start taking individual photos (or family). The whole team photo will be at 9:30 SHARP. Please wear your MAC suit or a plain black suit. DON'T BE LATE. We will not hold the photo for late swimmers. Puffins will also take a group photo. Any suit can be worn for the Puffin photo. There will be a cereal bar set up inside if you wish to purchase breakfast at the club.
- (PENGUIN ONLY) Lastly, we have been asked questions about the relays. Relays for the meets are picked in two ways. Some meets, we will be picking the fastest swimmers, some meets, we will be choosing any swimmer. The goal is to get everyone in each relay once during the season, hopefully more than once. For the larger groups (9-10 girls), there is a good possibility that your daughter may not make a relay one or two meets. We only have 24 spots for relays, and we have over 30 swimmers in the 9-10 group. Our coaches feel the first priority is to get kids in the water and give everyone a chance to do a relay. Just because your swimmer made practice at least 3 times a week, it does NOT guarantee them a spot in that week's meet. Please explain to your swimmers that if they aren't in a relay that week, it may have nothing to do with their ability or their attendance. We want every kid to have the opportunity to swim. When Conference rolls along, we will be taking the fastest swimmers ONLY. Thanks for your understanding.
Thanks again for all of your help, patience, and understanding. This season is off to a great start!!!
Alyson and Stephanie
